Test Set broadens HSDPA performance

Test Set Model 8960, featuring E1963A W-CDMA Mobile Test Applications with Option 403 HSDPA test modes, provides set of RF parametric measurements. Frequency Division Duplex and Radio Bearer test modes give developers flexibility in structuring test processes, provide support for H-set 1-5, and cover UE testing demands through Category 6. Graphical dynamic power analysis of DPCH, HS-DPCCH, CQI, ACK, NACK, and DTX channels validates relative power levels between channels over time.

Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today announced an extensive set of new measurement tools to ensure High-Speed Downlink Packet Access parametric performance. HSDPA is the 3.5G, packet-based data service added to the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Release 5 to improve the Wireless Code Division Multiple Access (W-CDMA) downlink.

The FDD (frequency division duplex) and RB (radio bearer) test modes give manufacturing test developers flexibility in structuring their test processes for optimized performance. The FDD test mode provides a fast, efficient test structure to increase throughput, while the RB test mode adds call processing to verify functional behavior. Both modes provide comprehensive support for H-set 1 through 5 and cover user equipment (UE) testing demands up through Category 6.

The Agilent 8960 test set with the E1963A W-CDMA Mobile Test Application with Option 403 HSDPA test modes provides a complete set of accurate and repeatable RF parametric measurements, giving users confidence in the UE quality. Graphical dynamic power analysis of DPCH, HS-DPCCH, CQI, ACK, NACK, and DTX channels validates relative power levels between the channels over time.

Parallel W-CDMA bit error rate and HSDPA block error rate receiver measurements reduce overall receiver measurement test time while providing the highest accuracy of Tx power and frequency measurements.

Agilent continues to enhance its complete portfolio of HSDPA test solutions to provide test correlation from development through manufacturing. This is possible via Agilent's E8875A 3GPP FDD W-CDMA Design Library, E4438C ESG Vector Signal Generator with Option 418 Signal Studio for HSDPA over W-CDMA and E4406-210 Vector Signal Analyzer, as well as the 8960 used in Anite's SAT(A) and SAS conformance test solutions.
