Industrial RS-232/RS485 devices can be networked
Serial device server FL COM server RS485 enable simple integration of RS-232/485 based terminal devices in 10/100 BASE-T(X) networks and more devices to be connected to Ethernet.
The new serial device server FL COM Server RS485 from Phoenix Contact complements the existing product for RS232 and both are the most powerful and universal COM Servers on the market. They enable the simple integration of RS-232/485 based terminal devices in 10/100 BASE-T(X) networks and allow devices not previously networkable to be connected to the Ethernet. The COM SERVER allows RS-232/RS485 devices to be connected to Ethernet and point-to-point and multipoint device connections to be achieved over existing Ethernet infrastructure.
Among many applications they allow the use of standard modems in dial up Ethernet applications.
The modules support all common protocols such as TCP/IP, Modbus TCP, PPP and 3964R.
In this way, system status can be called up from anywhere in the world, visualization data transmitted, a program or firmware downloaded and remote maintenance executed.
With the COM Port Redirector - available at no extra charge - application programs from a Windows PC that exclusively access serial COM ports can be redirected to the network card.
Simple start-up and quick configuration are accomplished using Web-based management and a standard Web browser, offering many additional diagnostic functions.
