Valve islands are smaller and more flexible
Maxam IVS electronic valve islands are at the heart of the control systems in the Monostatic single cavity powder compacting presses manufactured by Simac of Rugby for continuous volume production or research and development applications. Capable of producing complex shapes as well as a wide range of basic components from many different types of material, the Monostatic 400 uses the very latest cold dry bag technology. PLC controlled, the machine operates at a pressure of 2000bar, has a fill diameter of 135mm, and a length of 425mm.
The machine offers cost efficient tooling, reduced downtime, faster operating cycle times and a dramatic reduction in waste levels.
A large number of options are available, including powder dispensers, bulk hoppers, discharge conveyors, pick and place units and integrated turning lathe.
Applications for Monostatic powder compacting presses range from drill/reamer blanks through to water filters, from lamp tubes to oxygen sensors, from engine valves through to hip joint blanks.
Materials include aluminium oxide, zirconium oxide, tungsten carbide, silicon nitride, iron, stainless steel, PTFE, plastics, glass and many others.
Maxam IVS valve islands have been specified to replace previously used ISO valves.
Prewired, assembled and tested, the Maxam IVS valve island is much smaller and more flexible, for the same flow rate.
Pre-wiring and assembly also reduces installation times and costs.
Maxam IVS electronic valve islands remove the need for conventional wiring, and associated costs, during electrical configuring.
An embedded microprocessor converts the sub-D inputs and creates a serial data transmission.
This novel design allows several valve islands to be distributed from the one sub-D connection.
